Being a Seamstress requires a special knowledge and skill of sewing and how to make clothing. You'll need to learn how to make alterations, sewing hems, fixing tears and damage and other advances sewing skills.

Some Seamstresses also work with Dry Cleaners in their area as an independent contractor. If the Dry Cleaner gets a client who needs fabric repair or alteration, the Dry Cleaner outsources the job to a Seamstress who works in conjunction with them.
