5 Questions To Answer When Writing Sales Text

by: Jennifer Clason

Most people are not fooled by a salespitch. They can read right through you when they know you're blowing smoke up their .... well they just know when you're phony.

It's better to understand the needs of your customer and tell him why he can't live without your product without feeding him a line of bull. Here is the way.

1. What's in it for them?
Consumers are selfish. They are not going to buy products to pay your mortgage or out of the kindness of their hearts. They want benefits. So tell them why your product or service will benefit them.

2. How will it make their life easier/better?
Are you selling a weight loss pill for instance? Of course it will make them thinner. Tell your customer how their life will be improved with your product and understand the emotional needs of your client.

3. What will be the consequence if they decline?
Help your customer understand what will happen to them if they decline your product. Now we're not talking about Vinnie going out and busting their kneecaps, just simply tell them that they are missing out on a good thing and give examples.

4. Why are you credible?
Your customers want to buy from someone that they trust. Tell of your experience behind your product or service that makes you worthy of promoting it. Your credibility is a very important factor of making the sale.

5. What if they don't like your product?
Always offer some sort of money back guarantee with your product. That way it makes people feel less at risk in buying your items. They will feel more confident in their purchase.

As soon as you answer each of these 5 questions in your sales text, you have some great written ad copy!
